Fundraising
We are planning on a number of exciting fundraisers this coming year to help replace all of the funds that we weren’t able to raise over the past year. In the meantime, Gillette still remains the largest fundraiser we have, and will play a big part in helping pay for props, additional costume fees, truck maintenance, and more this year.
A giant THANK YOU to: Mr. Flint, Mr. Nunes, Addison & Chloe, who have all signed up for shifts to help raise money for our students.
Our entire schedule is available to sign up for, please visit https://dsmahome.org/gillette/ to sign up for a shift. Remember – if every family signs up for just 2 shifts over the entire year, our whole schedule would be fully staffed. This not only raises a lot of money, but also qualifies us for additional bonuses we don’t get if we under staff the booth.

Prop Meeting wednesday, July 28
Mr. Flint would like to meet with any parents/guardians who have offered to help design and build the props for this year’s show on Wednesday, July 28 at 4:30 pm after that day’s mini-camp rehearsal. If you are able to attend, please email Russ Benoit russbenoit@dsmahome.org.
Shoe sizing and ordering
We will be assisting winds & percussion students with shoe sizing before each mini band camp rehearsal next week, July 27-29.
Parents will be available to help students and will send home a slip of paper with any student who wants to try on shoes so parents/guardians will know what size to order.
Total costs for shoes will be $36, which includes shipping directly to the high school via freight carrier. PLEASE HAVE ALL SHOES ORDERED ON THE DSMA WEBSITE BY SUNDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 1!
We will be ordering with American Bands on Monday August 2, and unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate late orders. The shoes are expected to be delivered within 1 week of our placing the order.
Any older students with some of the white Drill Master shoes who can loan them to the DSMA during mini-camp so other students can try them on to determine sizing should contact Sue Benoit suebenoit@dsmahome.org to arrange a time to drop them off with Mrs. Benoit. Thank you in advance!
Volunteers needed for concession stand
In order to get the food stand opened, we need help to get it cleaned up!
Ken Richard, our Concessions Chair, plans to be at the stand Saturday, July 31 from 9 am-11 am to get things ready for the Cadets performance. Anyone who is able to lend a hand to help clean is more than welcome to come!
We will also need some volunteers to help run the stand for a few hours on August 2 in the late afternoon/early evening. If you are able to help clean or would like to volunteer to help during the Cadets performance, please email Ken directly kenrichard@dsmahome.org.
Cadets Drum Corps Coming to Dartmouth!
The Cadets will be staying at Dartmouth Middle School the first week of August as they kick off their DCI tour with a number of shows in Massachusetts.
The Cadets are tentatively scheduled to hold an open rehearsal at Dartmouth Memorial Stadium from 4-5:30 pm on Monday, August 2 for our students. We will open the gates for community members who want to watch a run-through of their 2021 show at 7 pm; with the performance start time at 8pm.
The concessions stand will be open to help feed students as well as anyone who attends the performance that night.

Cold Stone Creamery Fundraiser May 31!
Come and join the DSMA at Cold Stone Creamery in the Kohl’s plaza on Memorial Day, May 31 for an ice cream fundraiser!
From 12pm-9pm, Cold Stone Creamery will be donating a portion of their sales to the DSMA. So be sure to stop by for an ice cream after the parade, or your cookout.

DSMA Nominations for 2021/2022 – NOW OPEN
The DSMA nomination period for the 2021/2022 Board and committee chairs is no open. All members in good standing have been sent the nomination form that must be returned to Laura Edgcomb (lauraedgcomb@dsmahome.org), our Nominations Chair.
Forms may also be turned in at the in-person DSMA meeting on Tuesday, May 11 at DHS. The meeting will be at 7 pm.
