Show Shirts and Logo Clothing

Do you have a student in one of our three fall performing groups?
We are now taking pre-orders for show shirts for each of the three fall performing groups!  Show shirts are $15 each, and are available in S, M, L, XL, and XXL (adult sizes only).

There are two ways that you can pre-order your shirts:
1) Pay online via DSMA website. You can fill out the quantity of each show shirt you want by filling out the text fields IN FULL and paying online on the Student Payments page on the DSMA website. There are separate sections for Winds, Guard, and Percussion shirts. Please be sure to fill them out with your student’s name, the total quantity of shirts your family wants, and the amount of each size that you would like (example: Student Name, 2 Medium 1 Large). If you are ordering shirts from multiple performing groups, just list the sizes that you would like in the appropriate sections when filling out the form.
2) Pay via check or cash. You can fill out this Google Form and put the check or cash in an envelope with your student’s name on it along with “Show Shirt Money” and have your student place it in the black DSMA box in the music office. The Google Form will email us with your name and shirt order when you submit it, so you don’t need to worry about printing it out and putting it in the envelope with the money.

If you pre-order and pay online through the DSMA website, you do not need to fill out the Google Form. Only cash/check orders need to fill out the Google Form so we can have an accurate count of how many shirts we need to order for each group. Once pre-ordering is complete, we will have a LIMITED number of additional shirts available.  This is to ensure that we are able to keep overall costs down.  To guarantee that your family has the show shirts they want, be sure to pre-order now!  If you have any questions, please contact Russ Benoit. DEADLINE FOR PRE-ORDERS IS SUNDAY OCTOBER 17.

Logo Clothing Update
Mr. Flint has had a new logo designed for the music department, and the various performing groups within it, to be used on all logo clothing orders. The new logo has just come in from the designer, and we are working on getting a logo clothing order ready for everyone. We’ll send out ordering information as soon as it’s ready, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while we prepare things for an order for this year’s
group.

2019 Pops Concert Ad Book – now open!

Ads are now available for our 2019 Pops Concert Ad Book!

25% of all ads sold go to student assessments, so this is a great way to help reduce the cost of Dayton trips for our indoor groups, or you may defer the assessment towards next year’s marching band trip. Students must sell ads in 3 of their 4 years in high school to qualify for DSMA scholarships, so if your student has not sold one yet this year, you still have the opportunity!

Please click this link to download the Ad Book order form, which contains all of the information needed to purchase ads and turn in the paperwork & funds. Any questions can be sent to Becky Amaral beckyamaral@dsmahome.org.

Itinerary for MetLife, mattress sale & raffle calendar info, parent meeting, and more!

This week’s itinerary was sent out to band & guard families via email today, and can also be found at this link. Please be sure to download it, print it, and post it in a prominent place!

MetLife parent meeting

We’ll be having a parent meeting to go over the MetLife itinerary and details on Tuesday, November 6 at 8:30pm. All parents should plan to be there to speak with your child’s assigned chaperone and exchange contact details. We’ll also have information on activities the following day.

Mattress fundraiser

Our mattress fundraiser is back for another year! A fundraising representative will be at our parent meeting on 11/06 to discuss the fundraiser in detail, and the DSMA will receive $10 for every family that signs in when they arrive at the meeting! With 115 kids in the band/guard, that should be some easy funds to raise. A referral flyer for the mattress sale can be found on our Fundraising page.

Chance calendar fundraiser

This month our students can sell chance calendars for $10, which will draw winners throughout the month of December. For more information, and to download calendars to sell, please visit our Fundraising page.

Itinerary for 10/31 – 11/3 – football, Danbury show, & NESBA Finals

An updated itinerary for the remainder of the week went out today to all of our marching band & guard families, and can also be downloaded by clicking here. Here’s a quick rundown!

Football – the game originally scheduled for Friday has been moved to Thursday night at 7pm due to weather concerns. If you are available to volunteer in our concession stand, please email davemeatty@dsmahome.org!

Competitions – on Saturday our band & guard will be performing at US Bands regional championships in Danbury CT, and on Sunday we’ll be in Lawrence for NESBA finals. Performance times are listed on the itinerary, and tickets for Danbury are still available for $15 from the DSMA. Tickets will be available at the Thursday football game as well as during dropoff on Saturday morning. Due to some weather-related rescheduling, we had some chaperones who aren’t able to help on Sunday so if you have a CORI on file and you would like to help chaperone NESBA Finals, please email russbenoit@dsmahome.org.

MetLife meeting – the plan is to have a parent meeting on Tuesday November 6, time TBD to go over US Bands Nationals at MetLife. We’ll also have a representative on-hand to go over the upcoming mattress fundraiser and the company will donate $10 for every family that attends the meeting!

Finally, we wanted to extend our thanks to all of the parents who traveled with the band to New Britain on Tuesday, or met us in the lot there to help out with the props and pit. Due to the mid-week show, an extremely rare occurrence, we did not have a number of staff and parents available to build our trees and help move our pit equipment. Our kids, our staff, and the DSMA board greatly appreciate you taking the time to help make sure our kids had a successful show!
