Introducing the new DHS Marching Band & Colorguard BAND App!

Last season, a number of families asked the board if we could consider using the BAND app as a way to communicate updates & info. After researching the app and speaking with other marching bands who are using it, we have created our own DHS Marching Band & Color Guard BAND app for everyone to use!

The BAND app is private and secure – only people who have an invite can join. We will still use email & Facebook to help get messages out, however the BAND app will provide instant updates to our families directly to their phones. It also provides a single place to find calendars, itineraries, competition directions, fundraiser & volunteer updates, and more. The BAND app can be used on either your phone or a computer, based on your own preferences.

To see how our friends right down Rt 195 are successfully using the BAND app, take a quick look at this quick video about how the Somerset-Berkley Marching Band uses it.

All families of our 2018-2019 students should have received an email with instructions on how to install the DHS BAND App. If you have any questions about installing or using the BAND App, please contact russbenoit@dsmahome.org for assistance.

Dartmouth Schools Music Calendar

Congrats to our indoor percussion group – WGI Silver Medalists!

Congratulations to our indoor percussion group for coming in second place at the prestigious WGI World Championships in the Scholastic World division!

Our kids were up against some amazingly talented schools from throughout the country, all of whom put on fantastic shows. Dartmouth was in third place after the preliminary round, before moving up to second place after semi finals. Their finals performance was one for the ages, and their silver medal AND Fan Favorite awards were well deserved.

We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all of the staff members, volunteers, and parents who were tireless in making sure our students were well rested, well fed, well prepared, and well taken care of.

This WGI World Championships was especially significant for Tom Aungst and Darcie Aungst, who got to see both of their sons medal with Dartmouth in Scholastic World, and also with RCC in Independent World.

After a few short months of rest, it will be time to get ready for marching band!

Congratulations to our indoor guards! Plus – April 2 percussion parent meeting postponed

Congratulations to both of our indoor color guards!

Our varsity squad are the 2018 NESBA Scholastic Open Champions, winning yesterday in Salem MA with a score of 95.4. Earlier in the day, our junior varsity squad won the Middle School division with a score of 94.04. What a fantastic job by both groups! Our varsity squad is now preparing for WGI World Championships later this month, which are held in Dayton OH.

In other news, tonight’s indoor percussion parent meeting with Mr. Aungst has been postponed. Once the meeting has been rescheduled, all families and performers will be notified by Dove Furtado.
